Your dog is eating 3 cups a day, in the morning. This amount will probably change throughout your dog's lifetime.  You may need to feed more or less as your dog gets older.

September 4,2022: We are continuing to work on concept marks, delivery to hand in and out of water.

The preserves are now open. If you would like to purchase pheasants for your dog to hunt over, please do so in the additional services area of the journal. A recommended minimum is 10 birds.

 July 1, 2022 : I apologize for the delay. We are working to build a new website that can better host our journal ,video and picture needs, thank you for your patience it is greatly appreciated.
Cadmus has competed force fetch and is now working on concept marks and intro to handling. He is doing great. He will be ready to go home by August.

April 3, 2022 : Working on FF on the table, coming along nicely.

February 19-March 19th : Apologies for the delay. we have been having intermittent website difficulties. It should be fixed now. We are moving on the force fetch and will soon be off the table and back to ground work.

February 6-18th: We are working on exposure to water , the find it command, delivery to hand and hold lessons when needed. Everyone has settled in nicely and we are making the most of the warmer weather.

​February 5th : Thank you for your patience. As many of you are aware, winter has arrived in a big way. With it comes snow, ice and delays. While keeping everyone warm and safe, we are still continuing to train. Our focus during these storms is on home etiquette and obedience, whether you have a head start puppy, companion or gun dog.  When temperatures are below 20 degrees we will be inside as much as possible, over 20 degrees and we can dig out, down at the training center.

Jan 1-15th: Planning on  wrapping up obedience, hold and moving on to concept marks​

Dec 2-25th : Merry Christmas! Your dog enjoyed homemade bacon dog biscuits and chew treats early this morning.  Obedience/ off leash obedience, heel turns and hold lessons​

Sept 19- October 9th : hold lessons, e collar training, retrieving fresh killed planted pheasants for the ” dead bird” command.

Sept 4-18th: Obedience lessons, field trips, staying a Sheryl and staff homes, going for hikes in the woods and at parks

August ​20 – Sept 4:  Field trips, staying at Sheryl’s house and other staff members homes, going on long walks in town and having fun at outdoor festivals

August 2-22, 2021 :   I especially enjoy fluffy dog beds and lots of toys. My favorite toys are the ones with squeakers but I won’t pass up a good tennis ball either. I am starting to understand my obedience lessons and I am beginning to anticipate when to sit, prior to being asked 

July 21- August 1,2021: We are starting to add shape to the obedience lessons, defining a heel area and working on getting a square sit. After, we swim and play 

 July 6th-18th: I am doing great at my intro to obedience lessons. I have also been working on sit lessons  with the chickens as distractions. After my lessons we play fetch with my favorite ,  favorite thing, a tennis ball. 

June 21- July 5th : Good Evening, I am very skilled at sit, its my favorite thing to do .  Today on a walk, I saw Chicken, Turkeys , Goats and also DUCKS! I also work really well with a wheelchair and walker

June 13-20th: Good Morning!  I love going on field trips and car rides. I am also working on sit lessons, introduction to the leash, crate training ( up to three hours and no accidents!) and learning how to swim    When we are done with our lesson, we go for group walks, chase the four wheeler or have group fun retrieves in the ponds.
June 1- June 12th : I’ve been working on leash drag  lessons and I am a great sitter. It’s my speciality really. I like to retrieve and go for long walks in the woods, but my favorite thing is definitely vanilla ice cream!

 May 2nd – May 30th : * Thank you for your patience while our website was not updating. This month we learned all about adventures outside. We have played in puddles, learned about the recall and change directions whistles, went in MUD and over logs.
We also are working on crate training and sit lessons

 April 10th- May 2 :  The pups will soon be having their first adventures outside. They have already played with pheasant wings and love toys. 

March 21- April 9th:  Cassie’s Litter is continuing to grow. They are healthy and love to eat.

March 25, 2021: Happy Birthday! Cassie gave birth to six healthy puppies today. There are four males and two females.
